Pleated Table
Hall/Sofa Table with a most unusual pleated black and white calfskin. Alas, I purchased every piece I could find of these unusual skins — and it was just enough for this table and a side of a wastebasket, which I hope will be sold to the same client.
When imagining the finished table, I kept picturing those wonderful Hollywood living rooms in the 1930’s films. To capture the drama of those rooms shot in black and white, I used this pleated material, not on the vertical, but horizontally because I was captivated by its various patterns and shades when first I saw the calfskin on a flat surface in my workshop.
