The ‘Mosaics’ for this table are individual pieces of alligator skin of many shapes which were cut by hand and placed in a subtle pattern over thin white tiles with regular deep cuts in the surface. To enhance the experience, these tiles were laid in an alternating pattern so that their regular, intersecting lines are the background for the irregular lines of the alligator pieces. The border of the table is in a matte yellow patent leather. The legs are open half curves of hand-cast acrylic in light gunmetal gray filled with floating flakes of sterling silver.
