Napoleon III Round Stool

EXCLAMATION!-ized Napoleon III, circa 1865, classic hand-carved rope-motif Stool. Purchased from Steinitz Paris many years ago on the same day as the Deco Arm Chair, this unique stool was also in need of a fresh start. The detail of the intricate 150-year-old hand-carved rope design has been completely preserved. But instead of gold leaf, it was fitted with ultra-thin lambskin, so that every detail of the carving was clear. The top was covered in distinctly modern pebbled calfskin.
