Late 18th Century Pair of Venetian Arm Chairs

A UNIQUE PAIR, WILL NOT BE REPEATED

An EXCLAMATION!-ized late 18th Century Pair of Venetian Arm Chairs. I remember the Spring day in San Francisco, about 30 years ago, when my wife and I bought these chairs which we then used with great pleasure. But in time, our decor changed (several times!) and the chairs were put in storage. As with the Deco Chair and the Napoleon III rope-motif stool, the carved wood frame was carefully stripped of its broken gilding and old white paint.

Then, the new life of this lovely pair of Chairs began. The entire wooden frame and most of the seat was covered in an embossed silver goatskin. Both sides of the back, the armrests, and the middle of the seat were covered in aubergine patent leather. Deliberately, the aubergine is the focal point, as these two substantial chairs ‘float’ in their cloud of silver.

Dimensions: Depth/Width/Height: 23″/ 24″ /19″

This pair is unique and will not be repeated.
