Broadtail Chair
Every curve and compound curve in this Chair was created and designed by Prince John to capture the unique watered silk effect of premium Russian Broad Tail. Hard to obtain, these pelts were reserved in advance of the Saint Petersburg Fur Auction to ensure that they would be available for this project.
The pelts were hand-tinted to a silvery grey to enhance the watered silk effect. The pelts were arranged to harmonize with the lines of the chair and to contrast the subtle difference in coloring — a skill of only a few master furriers. Turn this chair on its swivel and admire the artistry. Now sit in it: after a few moments, the magic of this Chair becomes evident as it encourages you to relax your position — maybe even put one leg over the side!
The ‘Sea Serpent’ Chair comes with a sterling silver plaque with Roman Numeral “IV” marking is as a unique piece in Prince John’s FURniture collection.
